Community Service

The Inland Empire Section of ASCE has adopted a two mile portion of Interstate 90 from mile marker 275 to 277.  This section is located just west of Spokane between the Geiger Exit and the Medical Lake Exit.   American Society of Civil Engineers name will be posted on the Adopt a Highway signs.

We are responsible for picking up trash on the outside medians three times a year. Cleanup takes about 3 to 4 hours each time.  Please contact the Section Officers or email if you are interested in helping with this community service.

Next cleanup event to be announded (possibly late summer 2017).

Volunteer officials are needed for the High School National Science Bowl.  The Inland Empire Regional competiion is scheduled for Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Whitworth University, with a practice session on February 8, 2017.  See the Calendar of Events.

Interested volunteers may contact Professor Markus Ong at or 509-777-4207.  Additional information about the competition can be found at
